CHELSEA GREEN

Chelsea Green is the Director of Choral Activities at Lassiter High School in Marietta, Georgia, where she directs four curricular choirs, teaches AP Music Theory, and oversees a variety of extracurricular vocal ensembles.

She also serves as Assistant Conductor of the Atlanta Women's Chorus, whose mission is "Changing hearts and minds through music," and is a Staff Singer at Peachtree Road United Methodist Church in Atlanta, Georgia. In addition to her work as a conductor and educator, Chelsea is an emerging clinician and was recently appointed as a choral adjudicator for the Georgia Music Educators Association (GMEA) Large Group Performance Evaluation (LGPE). She has worked with middle and high school honor choirs, including the 7th and 8th Grade All-County Tenor-Bass Choir in Prince William County, Virginia, and regularly serves as a guest clinician for school choral programs throughout the metro Atlanta area.

Previously, Chelsea served as the choral director at Five Forks Middle School in Lawrenceville, Georgia, and as Children's Music Director at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Atlanta.

Chelsea has been recognized for excellence in music education, receiving the Cobb County School District High School Chorus Teacher of the Year Award for the 2021–2022 school year. She was also honored with the Georgia Commendation Medal from the United States Military for her innovative planning and direction of the Lassiter Chorus Veterans Day Concert. This multimedia performance features interviews from the Library of Congress Veterans History Project, collaboration with the 116th Army Band (Marietta, Georgia), and performances by the entire Lassiter Chorus feeder program.

Under her direction, Lassiter choirs consistently earn Superior ratings at performance evaluations and festivals while maintaining strong participation and success in District Honor Chorus, All-State Chorus, the GHSA Literary Competition, and the Georgia Governor's Honors Program.

Chelsea's ensembles have been selected to perform at conferences, including the Georgia American Choral Directors Association (GA-ACDA) Conference and the Georgia Music Educators Association (GMEA) In-Service Conference. These performances reflect the continued musical excellence and growth of the Lassiter choral program.

The Lassiter Chorus has a rich tradition of international travel, and Chelsea is grateful to continue expanding those opportunities for her students. Under her direction, the Lassiter Tour Choir has performed in Barcelona and Girona, Spain; Athens, Greece; and will travel to Florence and Rome, Italy, in February 2027.

Chelsea earned a Bachelor of Music Education from Georgia Southern University in 2015 and a Master of Music Education with an emphasis in ethnomusicology from the University of Colorado Boulder in 2021. Her professional interests include culturally responsive world music pedagogy, the development of tenor-bass voices in secondary choral ensembles, and creating meaningful educational experiences that support both students and music educators. She is passionate about building collaborative opportunities through initiatives such as the GMEA District 12 Honor Chorus, the District 12 All-State Chorus Boot Camp, and mentoring new choral educators through the Cobb County School District's New Teacher Academy.

Chelsea Green is an active member of the American Choral Directors Association, where she currently serves as the Georgia Membership Chair. She also maintains professional memberships in the National Association for Music Education, Georgia Music Educators Association, and the Professional Association of Georgia Educators.
