FINE ARTS DIPLOMA SEAL (FADS)
The Georgia Fine Arts Diploma Seal is a distinction awarded by the Georgia Department of Education to graduating seniors who demonstrate a sustained commitment to the fine arts throughout their high school career. The seal is affixed to a student's diploma and transcript, recognizing their achievement in music, theatre, dance, or visual arts.
For chorus students, earning the Fine Arts Diploma Seal is more than an additional credential—it reflects years of dedication, artistic growth, and active participation in one of Lassiter's most vibrant programs. It tells colleges, scholarship committees, and future employers that a student chose to invest in creativity, collaboration, and excellence over the course of their high school experience.
To earn the Fine Arts Diploma Seal, students complete a combination of coursework, artistic experiences, community engagement, and a capstone presentation documenting their growth as an artist. Many Lassiter Chorus students naturally fulfill these requirements through their involvement in concerts, honor choruses, leadership opportunities, service projects, and performances throughout the community.

Why It Matters
Today's college applicants often have similar GPAs, advanced coursework, and standardized test scores. What helps students stand out is a demonstrated commitment to something meaningful over an extended period of time.
Students who remain in chorus for all four years of high school—and many for three years before that in middle school—can showcase seven years of continuous dedication to the performing arts. That level of commitment demonstrates qualities that colleges actively seek, including:
