Student leadership
Leadership is one of the defining characteristics of the Lassiter Chorus Program. While a select group of students serves in elected and appointed leadership positions each year, we believe that every chorus member is a leader.
Leadership is demonstrated through daily actions—arriving prepared, encouraging classmates, taking initiative, and representing the program with integrity. Whether you are a freshman in your first semester or a senior officer, every student has the opportunity to positively influence our chorus community.
Student leaders help create the culture that makes Lassiter Chorus a place where every student feels welcomed, challenged, and supported.
Leadership Expectations
- Lead by example in rehearsal and performance.
- Demonstrate exceptional attendance and reliability.
- Communicate respectfully with students, parents, and staff.
- Encourage and mentor younger singers.
- Support the director and fellow officers.
- Help create a positive and inclusive environment.
- Represent Lassiter Chorus with professionalism at all times.
Leadership is a privilege, not an entitlement. Students who fail to uphold the standards and values of the program may be removed from leadership positions at the discretion of the director.
Becoming a Student Leader
Leadership applications are available each spring for the following school year.
Students may apply for positions that best match their interests, strengths, and experience. The selection process may include an application, teacher recommendations, interviews, and input from graduating student leaders.
Our goal is to build a leadership team that represents the diverse talents of our program while creating opportunities for students to grow as servant leaders.
